KRAIBURG profiKURA 3D: Easily integrating a slope into the walking alley

The profiKURA 3D walking alley mat creates a slope of approx. 3 % toward the center of the walking alley directly through the rubber flooring. Rapid urine drainage supports dry hooves and ammonia reduction - without the need for complex concrete work to create a slope.

Dry, clean walking surfaces are essential for hoof health, barn hygiene and safe cow movement. With profiKURA 3D, KRAIBURG offers a walking alley mat that combines slope, animal-friendly softness, slip resistance and functional hoof abrasion in one system.

The wedge-shaped mat creates a slope of approx. 3 % toward the center of the walking alley when installed. This allows liquids to drain quickly and reliably - even between cleaning intervals. The walking alley can therefore be constructed with a level concrete surface; additional, complex concrete work to create a slope is not required.

Dry walking areas for healthy hooves

When urine and moisture drain quickly from the walking surface, hooves remain drier. This supports the natural protective function of the skin in the hoof area and helps reduce the impact of moisture and soiling.

The rapid drainage of urine also reduces the mixing of feces and urine on the walking surface. This rapid separation of feces and urine creates important conditions for reducing ammonia formation in the barn.

In a study conducted by the ANECO Institute for Environmental Protection, profiKURA 3D achieved an average ammonia reduction of 44 % compared with concrete flooring covered with rubber mats and a 1 % slope. The maximum reduction achieved was 78 % ¹. profiKURA 3D is eligible for funding as an emission-reducing rubber mat in various countries.

Safe walking and support for correct hoof form

The optiGrip surface with its integrated abrasive corundum provides a high level of slip resistance, even when smear layers are drying. At the same time, it promotes optimized hoof abrasion and thus helps maintain the correct hoof form. Compared to highly-profiled surfaces or drain channels, the flat-textured surface is also easier to clean.

The lower side featuring air chambers contributes to uniform softness. This gives cows comfortable walking conditions and secure footing when standing, walking and moving aside.

For new construction and retrofitting

profiKURA 3D is suitable for both new construction and retrofitting in existing barns. The walking alley can be constructed with a level concrete surface because the necessary slope is created by the flooring itself. This simplifies construction and also offers a practical solution for renovations.

The mat is available for walking alleys up to 5.20 m wide. Height differences to adjoining level areas - for example, at crossing passages or in front of the milking robot - can be compensated for with suitable profiKURA 3D leveling mats.

Suitable for various manure removal systems

profiKURA 3D is generally suitable for all types of scrapers and robot collectors. Many scrapers automatically adapt to the slope toward the center of the walking alley or can be adjusted to the appropriate inclination. Robot collectors should be suitable for use on rubber flooring.

This unique rubber mat meets the requirements of DIN 3763 and has received the “DLG-approved” quality mark with the “Made in Germany” designation. With profiKURA 3D, KRAIBURG combines animal welfare, practical barn design and emission reduction: for drier walking alleys and a comfortable, safe foundation for dairy cows.
