KRAIBURG profiDRAIN drain channel mat: drier walking alleys, healthier hooves, fewer emissions

Dry, clean walking areas are an important foundation for hoof health, animal welfare and barn hygiene. With profiDRAIN, KRAIBURG offers a drain channel mat for walking alleys with scraper manure removal that drains liquids effectively and reliably. The hoof-friendly soft walking surface provides comfortable walking comfort and helps the cows move safely.

The curved surface of profiDRAIN has a slope of around 6 % toward the longitudinal channels. This allows liquids to drain away quickly from the walking surface and be collected in the drain channels until the next cleaning interval. This supports dry hooves and contributes to a more hygienic walking alley surface.

Another advantage: Rapid urine drainage reduces the mixing of urine and feces on the walking surface. This rapid separation of feces and urine reduces the conditions conducive to the formation of ammonia in the barn.

A study by the ANECO Institute for Environmental Protection found that profiDRAIN achieved an average ammonia reduction of 61 % compared with level concrete flooring. The maximum reduction was 70 % ¹. profiDRAIN is eligible for funding as an emission-reducing rubber mat in various countries.

In addition to reliable urine drainage, profiDRAIN also performs well when it comes to cleaning: in an independent practical study, the drain channel mat showed particularly low residual soiling after cleaning ². Its flat-textured surface therefore further contributes to clean walking alleys.

The proven optiGrip surface with integrated abrasive corundum provides high slip resistance, even on drying walking areas. At the same time, it supports functional hoof abrasion and thus helps maintain the correct hoof form. Together with the wide, soft walking surface, it creates a walking alley that offers cows secure footing and comfortable support when standing, walking and moving aside.

profiDRAIN is designed for walking alleys with scraper manure removal. To ensure that the drain channels are cleared reliably, the cleaning lip of the scraper must be matched to the contour of the rubber flooring. KRAIBURG supplies this to fit.

The drain channel mat meets the requirements of DIN 3763 and has been awarded the “DLG-approved” quality mark with “Made in Germany”. It stands for tested quality, safety and durability in modern dairy barns.
