Kraiburg animal welfare and environmental protection hand in hand - from the raw material to the cow

Premium quality rubber from resource-saving production

Tyres are an ideal raw material: they have just taken care of your safety on the road. As soon as a few millimetres of profile are missing, long-lasting products for animal housing are produced from them, in which the important properties of the tyre (dimensionally stable, elastic, abrasion-resistant) are retained. The high quality of the tyre rubber can thus be reused in an ecologically sustainable manner. Unlike typical coverings of new rubber, with KRAIBURG mats no additional rainforest has to make way to rubber plantations.

The sophisticated manufacturing process enables us to feed cut-off back into the rubber cycle, i. e. we can produce almost without waste.

We recycle every year:

approx. 35.000 t rubber = approx. 7.5 m car tyres

Our purity rule

We refrain from regenerated rubber, chalk or other inferior fillers – for high quality
and environmentally friendly products. Therefore, fabric reinforcements are not necessary to improve stability.

kraiburg rubber cow mats - tested for pollutantsTransparent tests on relevant pollutants

We are the 1st COMPANY to have registered our products for the DLG's
PAH test and passed with flying colours!

As part of the quality seal CONTINUOUS MONITORING they are regularly tested for this – completely in line with responsible environmental and consumer protection.

What are PAHs?

PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) are formed during the combustion of organic materials (i. e. when barbecueing) and are found everywhere in our environment. Some of them are considered carcinogenic.

It all depends on the plasticizer

The decisive factor is whether or not PAHs are released from the products into the environment. In plasticizer oils, they are very mobile and volatile.

Instead of traditional plasticizers we use vegetable oils from the Danube region.

A DLG market overview shows that some rubber mats currently available on the market exceed the guide values for PAH migration by multiples and should be regarded as critical.

With the passed PAH test we show: There's another way!

Climate protection

Many countries have committed themselves to reduce ammonia emissions. These are mainly caused by agriculture.

Reduction of ammonia emissions

Urine on walking areas is the main source of ammonia formation in the cow house. It is therefore necessary to dissipate it quickly (via a slope, smooth surface, etc.). On hard ground animals tend to slip quickly.

Our specially developed rubber floorings are animal-friendly soft, offer the necessary grip, promote dry claws and help to reduce emissions!
