The deep litter cubicle cushion KRAIBURG POLSTA:

preference test and customer satisfaction

In an operation with 85 deep litter cubicles (42 with the deep litter cubicle cushion POLSTA, 43 without POLSTA) the preference behaviour of 80 dairy cows was tested.

Cows prefer the deep litter cubicles with POLSTA:

Already after 10 minutes half of the cubicles with POLSTA were occupied, whereas it took 20
minutes more to occupy half of the cubicles without mats. Overall, the occupancy of the cubicles with POLSTA was higher.

POLSTA is installed in the head space of the deep litter cubicle

Experiences with POLSTA:

improvement of the cubicle's head space
the animals accept the cubicles very well
-> higher attractiveness
up to 50 % less straw and time for maintenance
more cow comfort
better lying down behaviour
easy installation of the mats
