CaBoMat for elevated calf pens / boxes

From 01.01.2023 on, calves in Germany may only be transported from the age of 28 days. On many farms, this doubles the time that the calves stay on the farm. The increased space requirements can be met by larger single pens (according to TierSchNutztV 1.6 x 1.0 m from the 15th day of life) or large group hutches (according to TierSchNutztV 4.5 m2 per calf). The use of group hutches thus requires more space per animal compared to single pens.

Single pens offer clear advantages in calf management. The new regulation could lead to an increased demand for larger calf pens (1.6 x 1.0 m instead of 1.2 x 0.8 m). The problem of the higher requirements of bedding material still remains unsolved. Not every farm can afford the double amount of bedding material for calf rearing. This is where our CaBoMat comes in: the perforated rubber mat is available as standard in the dimension of 1.6 x 1.0 m and is thus specially tailored for calf pens. By equipping the calf pens with CaBoMat, the amount of bedding can be reduced, especially in the warm season, while at the same time the surface remains slip-resistant and soft, which is gentle on the joints.
