Makes great mattresses

Farmer Thomas Signer runs a farm with 40 dairy cattle. In the autumn of 2018, he fitted some of his cubicles with the deep litter cubicle cushions POLSTA. He’s found many benefits.

“It's clear to see that the cows prefer to lie down in the cubicles with the POLSTA mats. These spaces are always the first to fill up.

The ball shaped segments in the mat make a great mattress in the head space which is kept very well. It stays at a constant height, so the cows can lie down in excellent comfort.

The animals also dig less, meaning that we waste less straw. That saves money on bedding and it's also less work as I don’t need to rebed so frequently. The joint health of the animals was already very good, but the POLSTA mats have further improved carpal joint health. The cows no longer have bald patches. I am very pleased with the mats and want to fit them in the remaining deep litter cubicles this autumn.”
