Cows stand softly and cleanly
Werner farm, Römerstein-Strohweiler, Germany, LENTA
Elevated feed stalls were fitted in Peter Werners new calving pen and exercise area. These have been equipped with LENTA rubber mats for the last two months. Peter is very satisfied with the feed stalls so far, because traffic among his 150 dairy cows runs smoothly.
With so many cows, theres always something going on in the exercise areas! The elevated feed stalls mean that the cows can eat in peace at the neck rail, without being disturbed by other animals or the scraper.
I was recommended to fit rubber mats in the feed stalls, to give the cows a soft floor on which they can stand well. I had some reservations at first that the feed stalls would get dirty quickly, but they were unfounded.
Hardly any muck accumulates on the mats, and if it does, it is easy to sweep away. They were also very easy to fit, even cutting them to fit around the dividers was no problem with two of us working on it. I am very pleased with the mats so far!
