Comfort mats for
As innovative then as they are now: In 2002, KRAIBURG was the first manufacturer to develop a rubber walking alley mat specially adapted to the anatomy of the cattle claw. Soft walking in dairy cattle barns thus began 20 years ago with the KURA mat. Since then, the product range for walking areas has been developed on a continuous basis. If there's a will, there's a way. Everything is possible, from a wide range of paved / concrete floors to bespoke slatted floor coverings and rubber mats with integrated slopes.
Cows prefer to walk on rubber than on concrete. The reasons for this lie in the anatomy of the cattle claw: On the soft flooring, the longer outer claw can sink in, resulting in optimal pressure distribution as well as improved slip resistance. As such, the soft base reduces pressure damage and claw lesions. This not only has a demonstrably positive impact on claw health, but also on oestrus behaviour, feed intake and thus metabolism. The mobility of a dairy cow is therefore directly related to its well-being, but also to its efficiency.
A hard flooring leads to claw wear, especially in the heel area, which causes the claw to tilt backwards. This results in an excessively flat claw angle with defective positioning and inappropriate stress. Since 2009, KRAIBURG has therefore been integrating claw wear into the rubber mat using abrasive corundum. profiKURA is thus the only walking alley mat that creates a combination of anatomically adapted softness, high level slip resistance and correct claw wear. This means that claw trimming is used for the purpose of real care, rather than for correcting defective positioning and inappropriate stress.
The recently developed walking alley mat is wedge shaped and thus creates a slope towards the centre of the walkway. profiKURA 3D therefore combines all the advantages of the entire KRAIBURG walkway mat range: On the one hand, the integrated slope ensures dry walking areas and reduces ammonia emissions. On the other hand, the profiKURA surface provides the mat with a very high level of slip resistance even in dry flooring conditions, has lower profiles and is thus easy to clean.
